ACSC’s women’s squad travels to Holly Springs to face Wake FC

On Saturday, May 28 ACSC’s women’s squad will travel to Holly Springs, NC to face South Atlantic Division foe Wake FC. So far Wake FC has only played one game this season that ended in a 0-4 loss against the NC Courage. 

ACSC will travel to Holly Springs after their Tuesday game against the NC Courage that ended in a 1-1 draw. The lone goal of the night was scored by Arkansas sophomore Van Fitch. At goalkeeper, Emory Wegener was Player of the Game, giving an excellent defensive performance. 

“Trying to be more offensive and more effective in front of the ball will be the focus for this upcoming game,” head coach Jimena Rojas Cordero said.  

Next up on the women’s side is a home game against the Greenville Liberty on Monday, May 30. Greenville has a 2-0 record this season, allowing for an exciting challenge for the Blues.

“It will be huge to be back at Memorial. We will have the support of the fans. It's like having an extra player. They are not on the field but their support is huge for us,” Rojas Cordero said.
