An elite youth developmental program, AC Academy consists of one girls team and one boys team to support each of the Club's first teams and features a training-focused environment designed to supplement and complement the players’ experiences with their school and club teams.

A foundational component of AC Academy programming is an immersive experience within the entire club. Asheville City first team staff and players lead training sessions allowing Academy players to learn what it is like to play at the next level and what it takes to get there directly from those that are experiencing it with the Club's first teams. In addition, Academy players are encouraged to be active in their communities, especially the local soccer community that has fostered their development.

AC Academy is available to all through a tryout process with priority given to high-school aged youth residing in Western North Carolina. Programming takes place during the summer months overlapping with the first team regular seasons.

Who: Anyone currently in (or entering) high school. 

*Some exceptions to the age-range may be considered on a case-by-case basis as determined by the club.

What: Developmental program designed to integrate local youth into the ACSC system. Supplemental program that will focus on key developmental areas in preparation for the next level (college and/or ACSC first team) - Technical/Tactical Training, Fitness/Strength/Conditioning, Injury Prevention, Nutrition, Mindfulness/Psychosocial, etc.

When: Summer Program that will take place during the months of May, June, and July. Programming will be built around existing Club/High School programming, so as not to overload the players during their current seasons. Training Sessions will be held 2-4 times per week (Days/Times - TBD) with Potential Games throughout the Summer (Dates/Times - TBD).

Where: Programming will be held in the Asheville area. Some travel may be required for potential Away games.

Why: To accelerate the developmental process for players that have aspirations to compete and play at the next level (College, ACSC First Team, and Beyond). 

How: FREE programming for area youth (No Pay to Play for players/families). Prospective Players must be committed to their own development and futures within the game in order to be considered and to participate in the AC Academy program.
