Asheville City Soccer Club (ACSC) is proud to announce Men’s Head Coach Scott Wells has re-signed with the club ahead of the 2023 season.

“I am delighted to be continuing my journey with Asheville City Soccer Club. The board lived up to every expectation in supporting our group and for that we were able to make history,” said Wells. “As a staff myself, and Assistant coach Joe Barber have set goals and expectations for the 2023 campaign and have already started piecing it together! I would like to thank Jimmy Wheeler for his belief in me, and look forward to another record breaking summer!”

Wells led the Blues in 2022 to their first USL League Two postseason, making it to the Sweet Sixteen before ending the season with a 10-5-1 record.

Wells, most recently the Men’s 1st Assistant Coach/Head Recruiting Coordinator at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, is known as a highly successful recruiting coordinator in collegiate athletics. In 2021 he achieved one of the nation's Top 20 Recruiting Classes and in 2020, one of the Top 15 Recruiting Classes.

Just last month he was named as the Head Coach for Gardner Webb Men’s Soccer.

Founded in 2016, ACSC was created as a way to help local players pursue their dreams and grow the game while using soccer as a way to give back to the community. Asheville City’s women’s and men’s teams will return to play in the summer of 2023.
