Asheville City’s men’s team will return to Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, July 6 after a much deserved week-long break. The team will face South Carolina United FC and the game will kick off at 7:30 p.m.

SC United is 5-4-1 so far this season and is ranked fourth in the South Central Division. Lander University midfielder Tom Marriot is the leading goal scorer with four so far this season.

The Blues enter Wednesday’s game refreshed after a week-long break. The boys returned to practice on July 1, in preparation for the end of the season and a potential playoff bid.

“The boys have been able to get some solid rest this week. Our preparation begins not only for the next game but for the remaining league schedule. We have an opportunity to create history here and that’s what we intend to do,” head coach Scott Wells said.

The men’s team is ranked second in the South Central Division just behind One Knoxville SC. The Blues are ranked just ahead of South Georgia Tormenta. The next few games will be crucial to remain in the running for playoffs.

Both ACSC teams will play at Memorial Stadium on Saturday July 9 for a double header. The women’s team will play the NC Fusion at 5:00 p.m. and the men’s team will play SC United again at 7:30 p.m. This will be the last game of the season for the women’s side.
