Asheville City Soccer Club’s women’s team will travel to Greenville, SC to play the Greenville Liberty for the third time this season on Tuesday, June 28. The last two results against the team were a 1-1 draw and a 3-1 loss.

Greenville Liberty SC is ranked first in the South Atlantic Division with a 7-0-2 record. Clemson University forward Caroline Conti is the leading goal scorer with seven goals this season.

The Asheville City women’s team has had a week off between games to recover physically and mentally. Head coach Jimena Rojas believes this will benefit the players.

“I think having a week between games is going to be huge for us. It’s going to give us the time to rest players, to recover players, but also to work with a new group because we are missing a few players,” Rojas said.

The women’s team will return to Memorial Stadium on Saturday, July 9 for their last game of the season. They will face the 0-9-0 NC Fusion with a 5:00 p.m. kick off. The last two times these teams faced off the Blues won 3-0 and 3-1.

The men’s team will be taking a much deserved break this week and will return to action at home on July 6 against South Carolina United FC.
