The Asheville City men’s team returned to their winning ways on Tuesday with a 1-0 win against the Tri-Cities Otters. The win did not come under normal circumstances as the game ended at halftime due to an on-field power outage.
The first half of the game was scoreless with a few yellow cards and teams sharing possession. Not until stoppage time did the game become extremely eventful.

After this game, the team will have a short break before getting back into action. Head coach Scott Wells believes this break will benefit the players.
“When you’re traveling constantly it is important to give them some time for themselves. The guys are going to get some rest. Then, we will get back going on July 1,” Wells said.
The men’s team remains in the running for playoffs as the top two teams in the South Central Division get a bid. Asheville City, One Knoxville, and South Georgia Tormenta FC are the main contenders for the playoff bid.
The men’s team returns to Memorial Stadium on July 6 against South Carolina United FC with a 7:30 p.m. kick off.
