The Blues will look to rebound from their first loss of the season when the Asheville City men’s team hosts the Tri-Cities Otters at Memorial Stadium, June 24 at 7:30 p.m.

This is the second time the two clubs have met this season, with the last matchup resulting in a 2-0 win for the Blues with goals from Kemy Amiche and Luca Erhardt and assists from Clay Obara and Oskar Lenz, respectively.

Last time out, the Blues were upended by rival One Knoxville 3-1. The team is optimistic that last Tuesday’s loss to Knoxville will not be repeated on Friday. Reflecting on the loss, Head Coach Scott Wells had a positive outlook regarding the remainder of the season.

“As I said after our game to our guys this is a defining moment, as much as it hurts you need to take in the chanting and celebrations from the other team and allow it to hurt as much as possible.” Wells said.

“Then every time you step foot on the field you will remember not wanting to feel like that. We have prepared for tonight like any other game but there is definitely a little extra fire in us to respond immediately.”

Tri-Cities will head to Memorial amidst a five game losing streak, which began on June 1st with Asheville City’s 2-0 win in Johnson City. Their recent poor form followed their hot-start to the campaign, in which the Otters won three of their first four.

This match is sure to be an exciting one as the Blues can retake first place in USL League Two’s South Central Division with a victory.
