Asheville City’s women’s team will travel to Charlotte, NC on Saturday, June 18 to face the Charlotte Independence. Kick off will be at 6:00 p.m. The Blues are 2-2-4 this season and are ranked third in the South Atlantic Division.

Charlotte Independence is 2-3-1 so far this season and is ranked fourth in the division. The leading goal scorer is Ayden Yates with three goals this season. She currently plays for the Virginia Tech women’s soccer team.

On Tuesday, the Blues played the NC Fusion in Greensboro, NC. The game ended in a 3-1 win with two goals from Kiley Dulaney and one from Riley Thompson.

“I'm really proud of the team,” head coach Jimena Rojas said. “Although the results have not always been in our favor, the girls have been committed. We’ve played some great soccer, building & creating plenty of chances but we’ve also made some of the highlight films for our opposing keepers.”

Both ACSC teams will return to Memorial Stadium on Tuesday June 21 for a double header. The women’s team will play the Charlotte Independence again at 5:00 p.m. and the men’s team will play One Knoxville at 7:30 p.m.
