After a loss on the road against Greenville Liberty SC, the women’s team will return to Memorial Stadium to face the NC Courage. Last time the teams played, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

The NC Courage have a 2-1-1 record this season and are ranked second in the South Atlantic Division. Leading goal scorers are Annabelle Abbott and Emily Sapienza with three goals apiece.

Although the Blues did not get the result they wanted in Greenville, the team continued to fight throughout the game. Roisin McGovern scored in the 82nd minute, preventing a shutout. Midfielder Gabi Santora was named player of the match by head coach Jimena Rojas.

“We need to be ready at minute one. We need to be able to get ready and compete the moment the game starts,” Rojas said.

After the Wednesday home game, Memorial Stadium will be hosting a double-header to celebrate the annual Pride Night. The women’s team will be hosting Wake FC at 5:00 p.m. and the men’s team will be hosting East Atlanta FC at 7:30 p.m.
