When the Asheville City men take to the pitch for the first time this season, they’ll do so with a familiar face with newly appointed assistant coach, Guy Campbell.

Campbell is no stranger to the game, acting on the coaching staff for Christ School for a dozen years and as an Asheville City Academy assistant coach from the beginning.

“Guy knows far more than me about this town. He is loved and respected in the city of Asheville for caring so much and about so many,” said Asheville City Head Coach Scott Wells. “He has built a serious legacy at Christ School and has already been a tremendous help to me at Asheville City.”

Campbell is a 2000 Christ School graduate now just wrapped up his twelfth season as coach at his alma mater. He also has a cap for Asheville City when the defender played in a 2019 friendly.

“One of the things I love about Guy is his passion for developing the long term success of the Asheville community, he has shown that day in and day out. Myself and Asheville are lucky to have him,” says Wells.
