Blues looking for 2-0-0 WPSL start at home

Asheville City Soccer Club’s women’s team will host Women’s Football of Charlotte this Tuesday, June 8 at Greenwood Field on the campus of UNC Asheville. The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. EST. 

The visitors are ranked third in the Southern Division of the Carolinas Conference in the WPSL, sporting an 0-1-1 record. Most recently, the visiting team owns a 1-0 loss to the Charlotte Eagles. 

WFC of Charlotte is led by head coach Scott Ginn. Ginn previously worked as an assistant coach for the Charlotte Soccer Academy. The 2021 season marks the team’s first as a club and as a part of the WPSL. 

Asheville City returns after a 2-0 win over Charlotte Independence Central. Molly Dwyer made a triumphant return to the Blues scoring the first goal of the season. Returning wide player Chloe McClearly-Small joined her later in the game, scoring a dagger of a goal. 

Tickets for this match are still available on the Asheville City website for purchase. A livestream will be available via Youtube for those who cannot support the Blues in person.
