Heather Davis and Chelsea Parker On Board in Assistant Roles

ASHEVILLE, NC – Asheville City Soccer Club today announced the hiring of new women’s first team head coach Carolyn Warhaftig.

Warhaftig will lead Asheville City SC in its third season as a member of the WPSL after playing D1 soccer at Colgate University, in the Icelandic professional leagues, and having coached youth players across all ages. She had previously been named women’s associate head coach for the cancelled 2020 season.

“As a club founded by and rooted in our Asheville community, we respected the decision necessary [to cancel the season] to take care of our loyal fans, our plays, and our city,” Warhaftig said. “And, as we are looking forward to playing again in 2021, I am thrilled to contribute to a team that represent the true spirit of Asheville – one full of energy, excitement, and passion. Asheville holds a special place in my life and heart so I can’t wait to give back to this community that has given me so much.”

Joining Warhaftig will be Heather Davis as assistant coach and Chelsea Parker as goalkeeping coach. Davis was a four-year starter at Western Carolina University graduating in 2008. She is currently the head coach of Warren Wilson’s women’s team and has previous coaching experience at St. Mary’s College and the UNC-Charlotte. Parker returns for her second season with Asheville City having played for Mars Hill and is currently the women’s head coach at Francis Marion University.

The trio of women take over first team duties with the naming of former coach Stacey Enos as Director of Operations and Lydia Jackson as Technical Director for both the women’s and men’s teams.
